Delicacies for fortepiano and guitar

The first notes of autumn were recently heard in the Steri for the ‘Antonio il Verso’ association. A gentle ambiance was created by classical guitarist Dario Macaluso and fortepianist Kaoru Iwamura, playing a significant recent work by Ugo Casiglia. The duo’s programme ranged from Giordani to Diabelli, including solo performances of Haydn’s piano sonata in D major and two Andantes for guitar by Carulli

The homogeneous sound of the two instruments blended perfectly in Carulli’s opus 169, in which the theme was volleyed back and forth between the pianoforte and guitar in the most balanced and integrated manner. The delicate, flowing dialogue between Dario Macaluso and Kaoru Iwamura was consistently woven with graceful discernment

The agile precision of Iwamura in the Haydn sonata and the subtle intimism of the guitarist in the Andantes by Carulli combined together to create a vivacious performance in the final duo Sonatina by Diabelli.

Warm applause was followed by an encore of Beethoven

Een zachte ambiance /atmosfeer met gitarist Dario Macaluso en Karoru Iwamura op de fortepiano met een recent en interessant stuk van Ugo Casiglia.

 

Het programma van het duo varieerde van Giordani tot Diabelli, met als solistisch optreden de piano sonata in re groot van Haydn en met twee Andantes voor gitaar van Carulli. 

De homogeniteit van klanken van de twee instrumenten zorgde voor een volmaakt samensmelting en wisselwerking  in opus 169 van Carulli waarin het motief vloeiend en beurtelings gelijkwaardig door gitaar en fortepiano fijnzinnig en contrastvol werd gespeeld.

 

De geweven dialoog tussen Dario  Macaluso en Kaoru Iwamura  bleef vloeiend en fijnzinnig  ingebed  in bevallige fijnzinnigheid.

De beweeglijke helderheid van Iwamura in de Sonata van Haydn en de capato  intimismo van de gitarist in het Andante van Carulli klonken als duo tenslotte  opnieuw sprankelend in de laatste Sonatina van Diabelli.

Warm en tevreden applaus, met Beethoven als toegift.
